Customer Feedback

I've made a point of trying as many afternoon teas in the St. Louis area as possible - why?  Because - afternoon tea is generally fun, tasty and relaxing, something enjoyable to partake in with a close friend or two, whiling away some slow afternoon hours with tea and treats.  Often I've been disappointed by sub-par food.  Generally, they can get the tea right, but the food leaves a lot to be desired.  Sandwiches with stale bread, tasteless scones and unimaginative sweet offerings are more the norm than the exception in my experiences at various other places in St Louis.  Not so with Queen's Cuisine!  Jane Muscroft comes from the birthplace of afternoon tea, and her rendition blows any competition out of the water!  While the three-tiered tray with sandwiches, scones and sweets is familiar, Jane sets herself apart with the care she puts into each item.  Her sandwiches are light and delicate, fresh with just the right amount of cream cheese in those sandwiches that warrant it.  Her scones are of the traditionally English variety, more dense and less sweet than the American scone but served up with a healthy amount of strawberry preserves and clotted cream.  And I would be remiss if I did not extoll the virtues of the amazing clotted cream: it starts out as heavy whipping cream but Jane uses a special technique (which she readily shares!) of leaving the cream in a cool oven overnight.  After a few more simple steps you're left with a thick spread that's not quite butter but much more dense than 'whipped' cream which, once spread upon a scone and topped with a little jam, induces reactions of eyes-rolling-back-in-your-head ecstasy.  If that wasn't delicious enough, there's also a third tier with sweets, dessert items such as mini pies, cookies and locally produced chocolates.  Beyond the delicious treats and fine tea prepared in the correct way, the afternoon tea experience, for me at least, has always been one of relaxation with a close friend.  The Map Room is a really neat venue for these teas and meets criteria as a calm and unpretentious setting for tea.  In summary, I can without reservation say that Queen's Cuisine's afternoon tea is the best you'll find in St. Louis and that I'll be back very soon!

"The Butterfly Cakes from Queen's Cuisine, at the Goshen Market, were divine.  Jane is always making something different."

"English baked goods were GREAT! It was a wonderful treat to discover the English Scones, Lemon Tea Bread, and Eccles cakes made fresh every week from fresh ingredients at the Queen's Cuisine booth. We drove 45 minutes to shop at the Goshen Market...the baked goods from Queen's Cuisine was worth the drive. Thumbs Up!"

"We have been extremely dazzled by Jane's creations of gluten-free breads and desserts! There are a couple people in our household that can now enjoy great tastes without the gluten! Thanks Jane"

The Chocolate Cookie/Biscuit Cake was fantastic – thanks very much. I loved the dual texture effect of the cake and chocolate. It felt like the cake was ‘melt-in-the-mouth’ and very different from wafer or other baked products (e.g. biscotti) which are coated with chocolate. Patsy said to tell you thanks, she also enjoyed it to the extent that she kept a piece to savor another day!

Have fun with the pressure cooker! I will be happy to taste test any new food form you invent with it.

I'm so glad I found you.  Your scones are delicious, the packing is great, and the delivery time is wonderful.  I couldn't be more pleased.

I was very happy with the quality of the products I ordered.  The cheese scones were wonderful.  The day they arrived was cold and rainy, and to me nothing sounded better than a warm scone so I made them and it was the best dinner ever!  I saved the rest for the morning of the royal wedding. The instructions were really helpful, too.  I really liked the chocolate cake and the shortbread.  Both were very tasty and not overly sweet, which I really enjoyed.  I was also happy with the shipping.  The products were packed with a cooler packet so nothing melted or changed consistency, and I received the package a lot sooner than I anticipated, which was an extra bonus.  I am so glad you offer online shopping, as my schedule often prevents me from attending some of the area's farmer's markets, so ordering online makes it so much easier for me, and I thank you for that.  I look forward to ordering more products soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed all the products.  The directions for storing and serving the items were spot on and easy to understand and follow. The packaging was very pretty as well as practical.  The bride and groom cookie was admired immediately by a friend who asked to take it to her niece who was having her bachelorette party the next evening. It was admired by all at the party.

Thanks so much for the chocolate cookie cake...it was fabulous!  I'm sure it was equally as good as the cake served at the royal wedding reception.

Your shortbread cookies are the best!  The bride and groom were extraordinary and the lavender on the bride made it extra special.

Perfect, Jane...........thank you very much!!  I'd actually decided the best way to make sure they would be edible would be to have one for breakfast this morning!  It took me right back to the Orangery at Kensington Palace (my husband and I go there for tea and scones on every visit to London)!  The consistency is spot on!  And the flavor?  Let's just say I can't wait for next Friday!!
